Binance Charity, together with Tokocrypto, distributed a donation worth Rp1.4 billion to help communities affected by the earthquake that struck Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on 15 August 2026.

The donation was distributed through the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) to support emergency response efforts and the recovery process in the affected areas. The assistance will be used to meet the community’s urgent needs, such as food, clean water, healthcare services, and other humanitarian necessities.

Binance Co-CEO Richard Teng expressed his sympathy for the people affected by the disaster and hoped that the contribution would help PMI move quickly to meet needs on the ground.

“Through this contribution, we hope to support PMI in delivering assistance to victims in a timely manner. Binance Charity is always ready to work in synergy with trusted local organizations to help communities recover from humanitarian crises,” said Richard.

In the distribution effort, Tokocrypto contributed through its local presence and understanding of conditions among Indonesian communities. The collaboration is intended to help coordinate assistance with PMI so that it aligns with needs and priorities on the ground.

Tokocrypto CEO Calvin Kizana said that the assistance was a form of solidarity with communities facing the impact of the disaster.

“Indonesia’s strength has always been rooted in the resilience and solidarity of its people. At a time when affected families are facing extraordinary difficulties, it is very important for us to unite and act quickly,” said Calvin.

The assistance will be distributed through two approaches. First, direct support for PMI’s humanitarian activities in the affected areas. Second, emergency financial assistance using blockchain technology for recipients who meet the criteria.

The criteria for recipients, allocation amounts, and distribution schedule for the financial assistance will be announced separately.

Richard emphasized that the use of blockchain is part of Binance Charity’s efforts to provide assistance that is fast, transparent, and efficient. According to him, technology can be combined with the collaboration of local humanitarian organizations to expand the impact of assistance during a crisis.

This initiative also continues Binance Charity’s disaster relief programs in various parts of Southeast Asia and other countries. Through the use of crypto assets and Web3 technology, the organization seeks to support the distribution of humanitarian assistance while improving transparency and efficiency in the distribution process.
