CapCut held the culmination of AI Content Fest 2026, a competition and short-film festival based on AI that presented 10 selected works by creators from various regions across Indonesia. Carrying the theme “Small Stories. Big Screen. One Nation”, the finalists’ works were screened on the big screen at CGV Grand Indonesia, Jakarta.

Held to commemorate the 81st anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence, the festival served as a platform for creators to highlight stories about identity, culture, everyday life, experiences, and hopes for Indonesia by utilizing AI technology in the creative process.

Head of Content Operations CapCut Indonesia, Jessica Wowor, said the festival provided a space for local creators to bring their stories to a wider stage.

“Indonesia has so many stories and creative talents that deserve a bigger stage. Through AI Content Fest 2026, we want to help creators bring their perspectives to the big screen,” Jessica said at CGV Grand Indonesia, Friday (11/9/2026).

The ten works were previously introduced through the online campaign #CapCutFilmNaikLayar. At the culminating event, each film received evaluations and direct feedback from creative industry figures, namely Angga Dwimas Sasongko, Mouly Surya, Upie Guava, Dinda Prasetyo, and Gustav Anandhita.

In addition to film screenings, AI Content Fest 2026 featured a discussion on the role of AI in the creative industry with Lukman Sardi, Mouly Surya, and Gustav Anandhita. The industry figures viewed AI as a supporting tool that can broaden exploration, speed up work, and help visualize ideas, while creative direction and final decisions remain in human hands.

The festival also presented awards in eight categories, including Best Story, Best Visual, Next Icon Award, Most Popular AI Microfilm, Special Selection Award, Jury’s Special Mention, Student Awards, and Best AI Micro Film.

In the Best Story and Best AI Micro Film categories, the awards went to “Bayu” by Ilham Setyawan from Semarang. Meanwhile, the Student Awards went to “Gerilya” by Yovan Arya Nugraha from Bogor.

AI Content Fest also featured a collaboration between CapCut and musician Raim Laode through an AI-based music video for the single “Dunia Yang Nanti”. The work premiered at the festival, followed by a sharing session on the creative process and a live performance by Raim.

CapCut also provided an interactive experience through CapCut Poster Lab, which allowed visitors to create cinematic-style film posters with genre options such as horror, romance, action, sci-fi, and documentary.

Through AI Content Fest and various programs such as CapCut Gala, Creator Lab, and CapCut Creative Partner, CapCut continues to open up space for Indonesian creators to develop their skills and expand the reach of their work by utilizing technology.
