Registration for Cerdas Cermat Jagat Satwa Nusantara (JSN) 2026 officially opened from 28 September to 10 October 2026. Entering its second year, this educational program not only presents a competition for students but also encourages schools to independently continue learning activities about animals and the environment.

The program is open to fifth- and sixth-grade SD/MI students, with 36 selected schools set to take part in a series of competitions. The material covers three main areas: Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS), Biodiversity and Conservation, as well as General Knowledge and Culture.

Director of Dyandra Promosindo Rumpoko Hadi said that sustainability is one of the main focuses of this year’s event. Schools will receive educational materials and resources that can be used again after the competition ends.

“What we want to build through Cerdas Cermat Jagat Satwa Nusantara is continuous learning. After the competition is over, what can be taken home and continued by the school,” said Rumpoko.

Through the Zoo Skolastik approach, JSN connects learning at school with knowledge about animals, ecosystems, biodiversity, and conservation. The material is also designed to encourage curiosity, critical thinking, teamwork, and concern for the environment.

The Expert Staff to the Minister for STEM Development and Teacher Competencies at Kemendikdasmen, Prof. Maila Dinia Husni Rahiem, welcomed the program. In her view, a combination of competition and collaboration can provide children with an enjoyable learning experience.

At the inaugural event in 2025, 21 schools advanced to the Grand Final, consisting of 18 elementary schools and 3 junior high schools. This year, the target participants are focused on fifth- and sixth-grade SD/MI students.

Schools wishing to join the program can create a readiness video with a maximum duration of 60 seconds, upload it to Instagram, and then fill out the registration form by including the video link. Registration is available through bit.ly/PendaftaranCerdasCermatJSN2026 until 10 October 2026.

The Grand Final will be held on 22 November 2026 at the Teater Dunia Air Tawar, Jagat Satwa Nusantara, TMII, Jakarta. (Risma)
