Home Sweet Loan The Musical, presented by Indonesia Kaya and Visinema in collaboration with Jakarta Art House, will soon be staged from 30 September–18 October 2026 at Graha Bhakti Budaya (GBB), Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Jakarta.

Ahead of the performances, the musical introduces a preview of Act 1, which portrays Kaluna’s life, played by Kalya Islamadina and Chintana Jo, with her family. The scene shows the family room as a place where various interests, demands, and forms of affection confront one another.

Family dynamics become an important part of Kaluna’s journey as she faces responsibility while also determining boundaries for herself. The characters include Bapak and Ibu, played by Ery Christian Kumendong and Nita Lesmana, Kanendra (Simhala Avadana), Kuncoro (Eriko Yunus), and Kamala (Andrea Miranda), along with their families.

Indonesia Kaya Program Manager Billy Gamaliel said that the story of Home Sweet Loan is close to issues faced by society, particularly the younger generation.

“Issues concerning family, responsibility, the pressures of life in the city, and the dream of owning a home are concerns felt by many people, especially the younger generation,” Billy said at a press conference in Jakarta on Monday (14/9/2026).

One of the characters introduced is Kanendra, a figure who tries to maintain an image of success in front of his family. Meanwhile, Kamala, who already has a family of her own, presents another side of family and adulthood-related issues.

Andrea Miranda considers Kamala’s character to portray the reality that family life still comes with problems and consequences. Kamala and her family’s presence even adds to Kaluna’s burden, both financially and in her daily life at home.

Outside her family, Kaluna also has a supportive environment that helps her pursue her dreams through her colleagues Danan (Gerry Gerardo), Tanish (Alya Zafira), and Miya (Kathy Permata). Their presence illustrates the various relationships that also shape how Kaluna views life and the choices she must make.

This exploration of family forms part of the development of the Home Sweet Loan story, previously known through the novel and film. In the musical version, music becomes a space for expressing emotions and feelings that cannot always be conveyed through dialogue.

Before the show begins, Home Sweet Loan The Musical Original Cast Recording will be released on 17 September 2026. The album contains 18 songs, consisting of 14 original songs and four previously released songs. Five new songs were created by Idgitaf, while Ivan Tangkulung served as songwriter and music director.

The album will be available through Apple Music, YouTube Music, Spotify, and TikTok.
