A decade after the sequel to Ada Apa dengan Cinta? (AADC) was released in 2016, Royco continues the story of Cinta and Rangga through the short film “Bahasa Cinta yang Beda.” Starring Dian Sastrowardoyo and Sissy Prescillia and directed by Teddy Soeria Atmadja, the film invites people to find simple ways to show care for those closest to them.

The short film was introduced at a gala premiere at XXI Epicentrum Jakarta on Friday (11/9/2026). Royco presents “Omelette Cinta” as a symbol that a love language does not always have to be conveyed through words or grand gestures, but can also be expressed through small acts of care carried out sincerely and consistently.

Head of Marketing Foods Unilever Indonesia, Nuning Wahyuningsih, said that cooking can be one simple way to rebuild connections with family, friends, and partners.

“A love language does not always require beautiful words or grand gestures, because care often feels most meaningful when it is expressed through the small things we consistently do,” said Nuning.

In this film, Cinta and Rangga’s journey is shown in a more mature phase of life. After living together for years, the two face routines, busy schedules, and distance, which can make a relationship feel increasingly flat.

While poetry was one of the iconic mediums for expressing feelings in the AADC story, this short film offers a different perspective: love can be expressed through cooking and everyday acts of care.

For Dian Sastrowardoyo, playing Cinta again was a special experience. She considers the latest story to be close to relationship dynamics that many people may experience.

“I hope this film can remind us not to be fixated on how love ‘should’ be shown. Instead, we should continue to discover the love languages that have been there all along, but that we often fail to realize,” said Dian.

Omelettes were chosen because they are a simple dish that can be made personal through the care put into their preparation. Understanding a loved one’s preferences, choosing the ingredients, determining the level of doneness, and enjoying the dish together can all become forms of quality time.

Royco Bumbu Kaldu Rasa Ayam Kampung was also included to provide a consistent savory taste to the dish, while reinforcing the message that small acts of care carried out consistently can strengthen relationships.

Director Teddy Soeria Atmadja said the main challenge in the production was maintaining the familiar characters and dynamic of Cinta and Rangga while placing them in a more mature phase of life.

The short film “Bahasa Cinta yang Beda” can be watched starting 14 September 2026 on the Royco Indonesia YouTube channel. The collaboration between Royco and AADC will also continue through the end of the year with a number of activities and surprises for AADC fans in Indonesia. (Edi Triyono)
