Philips Smart Lighting is expanding its portfolio into the Home Entertainment Lights category through Philips Smart Lighting TV Sync, which features Screen Sync and HDMI Sync technology.

Both enable the lighting to follow the colors and visuals on the screen in real time, creating a more immersive viewing and gaming experience.

President Director Signify Commercial Indonesia Dedy Bagus Pramono said that lighting can play an important role in creating an atmosphere when people enjoy entertainment at home.

“With Screen Sync and HDMI Sync, users can enjoy a more dynamic and personal lighting experience according to their needs,” said Dedy.

Screen Sync Follows On-Screen Visuals

Philips Smart Lighting Screen Sync uses a Screen Sync Camera mounted on top of the TV to capture colors from the screen area. These colors are then synchronized in real time with the RGBIC TV Backlight Strip installed on the back of the TV.

This feature can be used together with Smart TV applications and external video sources without changing the existing entertainment connections. The installation process also includes Instant Calibration to make setup easier.

Screen Sync is available for TVs measuring 40–50 inches, 55–65 inches, and 75–85 inches. Users can adjust the brightness level and choose from various presets through the app.

In addition to watching films and series, the lighting can be used for gaming and Music Sync, which makes the lighting effects follow the rhythm of the music.

HDMI Sync for Gaming and External Devices

Meanwhile, Philips Smart Lighting HDMI Sync uses an HDMI Sync Box that can be connected to devices such as set-top boxes, game consoles, and other entertainment devices.

Available in HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 2.1 versions, this technology enables the lighting to follow on-screen visuals in real time. The HDMI 2.1 version supports refresh rates of up to 120Hz, allowing it to support games with frame rates of up to 120 FPS.

The lighting experience can also be extended throughout the room using other Philips Smart Lighting devices, such as Gradient Floor Light, Squire, and LED Strip.
