PT Semen Jawa and PT Tambang Semen Sukabumi, subsidiaries of SCG, once again awarded Achievement Scholarships to 576 elementary and junior high school students in five villages in Sukabumi Regency.

The scholarships were presented from 9–17 September 2026 at the respective village offices of Kebonmanggu, Sirnaresmi, Sukamaju, Wangunreja, and Tanjungsari.

The program, which has been running since 2019, not only recognizes educational achievement but also encourages the growth of a younger generation that cares about the environment. This year, scholarship recipients attended an inspiration talk highlighting the important role of the younger generation in protecting the environment.

President Director of PT Semen Jawa Anawat Pornpunyapat said the program was part of efforts to build a generation with opportunities to develop while also caring about the environment.

“This scholarship is not merely educational assistance, but an investment in the future. We believe that every child has the potential to grow, achieve, and drive positive change in their surroundings,” said Anawat.

Of the total recipients, 95 students came from Kebonmanggu, 132 students from Sirnaresmi, 125 students from Sukamaju, and 112 students each from Wangunreja and Tanjungsari.

During the inspiration session, SCG featured Hadi Permana, a recipient of the SCG Sharing The Dream 2019 scholarship who is now the Chair of the SCG Warrior Mentari Community. The community mobilizes more than 40 volunteers and has involved more than 1,000 residents in managing organic and inorganic waste.

The movement has also collected and managed more than 60 tons of waste in five villages in Sukabumi Regency.

In addition to scholarships and environmental education, the recipients also received environmentally friendly school bags made from recycled material derived from shoe waste through cooperation with PT Pratama.

Since it was first held in 2019, the SCG Achievement Scholarship Program has awarded scholarships to 4,268 students through 2026. The program is part of SCG’s commitment to the principles of Inclusive Green Growth by combining educational, social, and environmental aspects. (Risma)
