TransNusa officially operates two new routes, namely Jakarta (CGK)–Lampung (TKG) and Lampung (TKG)–Kuala Lumpur (KUL), starting 24 August 2026. The opening of these routes strengthens connectivity from Radin Inten II International Airport while also reviving regular international flight services from Lampung. TransNusa Group CEO, Datuk Bernard Francis, said that Lampung has great potential as an aviation market because its population reaches approximately 9.5 million people and it has strong economic and social ties with Malaysia.

According to him, direct flights between Lampung and Kuala Lumpur can make it easier for people to travel for various purposes, ranging from tourism, business, and visiting family to healthcare services and umrah journeys. On the other hand, this connectivity creates opportunities for Malaysian tourists to make Lampung an alternative destination in Indonesia.

Photo: Transnusa The Lampung–Kuala Lumpur route will operate daily using a COMAC C909 aircraft with a capacity of 95 passengers. Meanwhile, the Jakarta–Lampung route will have a frequency of up to three times a day, with a travel time of approximately 45–60 minutes. The presence of the Jakarta–Lampung route also provides onward access for people in Lampung to a number of destinations within the TransNusa network via Jakarta, including Yogyakarta, Denpasar, Lombok, Singkawang, as well as international destinations such as Singapore, Guangzhou, and Bangkok.

TransNusa President Director, Bayu Sutanto, said that the opening of the two routes is part of the company’s vision to strengthen connectivity between major cities, regional cities, and tourist destinations in various parts of Indonesia with the international network. As an initial offering, TransNusa is providing special fares starting at Rp699.000 for Jakarta–Lampung, Rp1.599.000 for Lampung–Kuala Lumpur, and MYR399 for Kuala Lumpur–Lampung.

TransNusa will continue to evaluate demand developments on both routes, including opportunities to increase frequency and use aircraft with larger capacities. With the opening of these two new routes, Lampung is increasingly connected to Jakarta, Malaysia, and a broader travel network in Southeast Asia. (Henry)
