Electric vehicles are beginning to play a greater role in companies’ operational mobility.

Not only targeting retail consumers, the adoption of electric vehicles in the business-to-business (B2B) sector is also opening up new opportunities for manufacturers to expand their markets while promoting the use of low-emission transportation.

One such step has been taken by Polytron through its cooperation with PT Rentokil Indonesia, a company engaged in pest control and hygiene services.

Coinciding with Polytron’s 51st anniversary in Indonesia, Rentokil once again added electric vehicles to its fleet by purchasing 80 Polytron FOX 350 units.

This addition brings the total number of Polytron electric motorcycles used by Rentokil Indonesia to 325 units since the partnership first began in 2024.

Rentokil Indonesia Human Resources Director, Budi Santoso, said that the use of electric vehicles was part of the company’s efforts to support more environmentally friendly mobility.

“Currently, Rentokil Indonesia is already using many electric vehicles while also supporting the use of environmentally friendly energy.

We hope this initiative will enable Rentokil Indonesia to contribute to reducing carbon emissions in Indonesia,” Budi said.

Polytron’s electric motorcycle fleet is currently being used to support Rentokil’s operational activities in several areas, including Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, Bandung, Bali, and Surabaya.

The use of electric vehicles also has the potential to continue expanding.

Rentokil Initial plans to increase the use of electric vehicles to support the company’s operational activities in Indonesia.

B2B Becomes a New Growth Area

The entry of electric motorcycles into companies’ operational fleets shows that vehicle electrification is no longer limited to personal use. The need for high-intensity mobility in the services and industrial sectors is also creating opportunities for electric vehicle manufacturers to expand their market penetration.

For Polytron, its cooperation with Rentokil adds to its sales record in the B2B segment. In the first half of 2026, Polytron was previously entrusted with supplying more than 500 electric motorcycles to PLN UID Jawa Timur.

During the same period, Polytron also supplied 72 Polytron FOX 350 units to PT Semen Padang.

This series of partnerships reflects the growing use of electric motorcycles for companies’ operational needs, ranging from field services to the utility and industrial sectors.

Chosen for Field Officer Mobility

Rentokil chose the Polytron FOX 350 to support the mobility of operational officers whose work involves relatively frequent vehicle use.

The model is considered suitable for field mobility needs because it offers a modern design and technical specifications intended for daily use with high travel distances and operational intensity.

In addition to mobility, the use of electric vehicles also provides opportunities for operational cost efficiency.

Energy and vehicle maintenance expenses can be reduced compared with the use of conventional motorcycles, in line with the higher energy efficiency characteristics of electric motorcycles.

Polytron also stated that the FOX 350 battery had undergone dust and water resistance testing.

The testing was conducted by Sucofindo and resulted in IP67 certification, indicating a level of protection against dust ingress and exposure to water under the specified testing conditions.

Promoting Low-Emission Mobility

The electrification of companies’ operational fleets is also part of broader efforts to reduce emissions from the transportation sector.

Head of Group Product EV 2W Polytron, Ilman Fachrian Fadly, said that the use of electric vehicles by individuals and companies was in line with the carbon emission reduction agenda.

“This is in line with the government’s commitment to achieving Net Zero Emissions 2060. Cumulatively, the entire fleet of Polytron electric motorcycles operating in Indonesia has traveled more than 585 million kilometers and successfully reduced carbon emissions by more than 7.1 million kg CO₂e, equivalent to planting 322,727 mature trees,” Ilman said.

Polytron recorded that its electric motorcycle user base is now approaching 70,000 users. Cumulatively, the fleet has traveled more than 585 million kilometers.

The growth in electric vehicle use in the B2B sector also reflects changing corporate mobility needs.

Electric vehicles are no longer positioned merely as alternatives to conventional vehicles, but are increasingly being considered as part of operational fleets for high-mobility activities.

For Rentokil, the addition of 80 FOX 350 units is part of the development of its electric fleet, which has been underway since 2024.

For Polytron, meanwhile, the expansion strengthens electric vehicle penetration in the corporate segment, which requires vehicles for daily operations.

As more companies adopt electric vehicles for operational needs, the B2B sector has the potential to become one of the important areas in the development of Indonesia’s electric vehicle ecosystem.
