Sailun Group presented a range of tire products for the mining industry at Mining Expo 2026, held on 9–12 September 2026 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. The portfolio on display included Sailun Tire, MAXAM, RoadX Tire, and Blackhawk Tire.

The presence was part of Sailun Group’s efforts to strengthen its position as a tire solutions provider supporting the operational needs of Indonesia’s mining industry, particularly in dealing with heavy terrain and demands for cost efficiency.

Sailun Group President Assistant & General Manager of Asia Region, Guoqiang Cao, said that participation in Mining Expo 2026 also served as an opportunity to introduce global manufacturing technology that is increasingly aligned with the needs of the Indonesian market.

“Through the launch of this locally made Sailun Terramax M/T 2, we are bringing global manufacturing technology and capabilities closer to market needs. We want to be a trusted partner that grows together with Indonesia’s industrial ecosystem,” said Guoqiang.

One of Sailun’s main focuses is its Off-The-Road (OTR) tire portfolio through MAXAM, designed for vehicles carrying heavy loads and operating in extreme conditions, including open-pit mining activities.

Meanwhile, Sailun, RoadX, and Blackhawk offer commercial tire options in various sizes and tread patterns for operational vehicles, ranging from dump trucks to logistics fleets.

According to Sailun, tires are one of the important components in fleet operational efficiency. Tire costs are said to account for around 15–20 percent of a vehicle’s total operating costs. Tire damage, such as tearing or punctures, also has the potential to cause unplanned downtime that disrupts productivity.

Sales Director of PT Sailun Tire Indonesia, Eko Supriyatin, said that mining and plantation terrain requires tires with high grip and durability.

“On the ground, fleet owners face real challenges every day, from thick plantation mud to sharp rocks in mining areas that risk triggering unplanned downtime,” said Eko.

Sailun Terramax M/T 2 Made Locally

Another highlight of the exhibition was the launch of the Sailun Terramax M/T 2, the latest generation of Mud-Terrain (M/T) tires produced domestically. The tire is intended for light commercial vehicles and 4×4 support vehicles, particularly pickup trucks operating in heavy terrain.

The Terramax M/T 2 is equipped with 3D Interlocking Shoulder Sipes and Open Tread Design technology to help remove mud and gravel from the tire tread. The technology supports self-cleaning capability while maintaining traction in off-road terrain.

The reinforced carcass construction and sidewalls with increased rubber thickness are also designed to improve resistance to punctures and abrasion caused by hard rocks.
